Nikki Sullivan Jessee was a star player for Rollins before becoming one of the most respected coaches in basketball. The Lakeland native transferred to Rollins from Florida and made an immediate impact. She was Second Team All-SSC her sophomore year, honorable mention as a junior and First Team her senior season. She ranks ninth on the Tars all-time scoring list with 1,249 points, averaging 15.2 points per game. After Rollins, Jessee signed a professional contract with the Thames Valley Tigers of Bracknell, England where she led the club in scoring and rebounding. Jessee started her coaching career at Jenkins High School in Lakeland and then moved to Lyman High School in Longwood. Jessee has coached Tusculum College, Campbell University and then three years at Martin Methodist College. She moved back to the SSC to lead Lynn, building the Fighting Knights into a conference contender. Jessee left South Florida to serve on her husband''s staff at Tampa before taking over the reins at Saint Leo. After three years leading the Lions, she left college coaching to focus on family. Jessee is now the head girls basketball coach at Lakeland Christian School.
