  • Russell Piggott’s impressive list of accomplishments on the Rollins’ baseball field include second in hits (242-a record not broken until 1989), second in homeruns (29), sixth in triples, and first in doubles.
  • In over 700 at bats he compiled a batting average of .341.
  • He was a four-time Baseball Week Tournament MVP and in 1979 was First Team All-South.
  • Piggott was drafted by the Chicago Cubs right out of Rollins. In 1980 he received the NY Penn League’s “Player to Go the Farthest” award and in 1981 he played in the Midwest League’s All-Star Game.
