Mission Statement:

"The Rollins College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) brings together representatives from each of the college's sports teams for the purpose of addressing student-athlete concerns and promoting a stronger connection between Rollins athletics and the larger campus community. The Rollins SAAC strives to sponsor and participate in activities that support the enrichment of the Rollins campus and the greater community. The Rollins SAAC hopes to integrate the experiences and talents of student-athletes into the college mission of educating students for global citizenship and responsible leadership."

Functions of  SAAC:

  • Promote communication between athletics administration and student-athletes.
  • Disseminate information.
  • Provide feedback and insight into athletics department issues.
  • Generate a student-athlete voice within the campus athletics department formulation of policies.
  • Build a sense of community within the athletics program involving all athletics teams.
  • Solicit student-athlete responses to proposed conference and NCAA legislation.
  • Organize community service efforts.
  • Create a vehicle for student-athlete representation on campus-wide committees (e.g., student government).
  • Promote a positive student-athlete image on campus.

Executive Board Responsibilities:
President
Serves as the liaison between SAAC and the college, the conference, and the national SAAC. Creates agendas for monthly meetings, secures spots on campus for activities, and provides leadership for the group. 
Vice President
Maintains attendance records and participation at events. Writes up minutes from meetings. Creates, distributes and reviews all forms. 
Finance Chair
Manages SAAC budget, including dispersion of funds for events. 
Alumni Chair
Oversees all projects related to maintaining relationship with alumni. Appoints the community service committee. 
Community Engagement Chair
Oversees all projects designed to strengthen the athletic community at Rollins with the city of Winter Park. Establishes buddy team assignments and One Big Game dates for each sport. 
Social Media Chair
Creates and posts promotional content for SAAC social media channels. Works with athletic communications department. 
Philanthropy Chair
Oversees events that benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation, the official charity of Rollins SAAC. Serves as a liaison between the school and the organization. 

Faculty/Staff Advisor
Provides guidance, support, and continuity for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Serves as a liaison between SAAC, the athletics department, and campus administration.
