WINTER PARK, Fla. — Five members of the Rollins softball team were named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, recognizing student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Representing the Tars on the NCAA Division II Academic All-District Team were
Claire Long,
Madi Carr,
Kaeli Zahradnik,
Makayla Layton, and
Reese Twiggs.
The CSC Academic All-District program honors student-athletes who have achieved success both academically and athletically throughout the season. Nominees must meet minimum academic and competition requirements to be considered for the award.
Long graduated with a degree in communications and appeared in 44 games for the Tars this season. She slashed .312/.421/.409 while totaling 29 hits and 23 RBI.
Carr earned her degree in biology after appearing in 40 games during her senior campaign. She hit .275 while leading the team with a .569 slugging percentage, adding 28 hits and 26 RBI in 2026.
Zahradnik, a communications graduate, started all 45 games for the Tars this season. She posted a .255/.352/.377 slash line with 27 hits, 28 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases.
Layton also graduated with a degree in communications. She appeared in 42 games during the 2026 season, recording 14 hits and two stolen bases.
Twiggs, a junior psychology major, anchored the Rollins pitching staff with a 2.53 ERA and 15 wins in the circle. She added 17 complete games, four shutouts, and two saves during the 2026 campaign.
Rollins continued to excel both on the diamond and in the classroom during the 2026 season, with the five selections further highlighting the program's commitment to academic and athletic excellence.
