Senior Day Sweep

Rollins defeated Palm Beach Atlantic twice on Saturday

WINTER PARK, Fla. (May 9, 2026) - Rollins softball wrapped up their season in the best possible way, sweeping both ends of a doubleheader, followed by a celebration of their seniors on a beautiful Saturday in Winter Park. The Tars end the year with a record of 29-16, 17-13 SSC while the Palm Beeach Atlantic Sailfish finish 21-30, 11-19 SSC.

Game One
Rollins 3, Palm Beach Atlantic 2

The Sailfish struck early in the first, using a double and a sac fly to go up 1-0. Rollins had the immediate answer in their half though. Daylin Hejtmanek drew a leadoff walk, and then used her wheels to score from first on a double from Cambrie Todd.

In the third, Jenna Borkey laced a one-out double to left, and was promptly plated on a single from Todd, putting Rollins up by a run.

Palm Beach Atlantic tied things up in the fourth when a routine grounder turned into a drop at first base, allowing Savannah Lee to touch home.

The Tars secured the lead in the fifth inning. With runners on second and third, Gabriella Barrera popped it up to second. With the infield playing in, the second baseman had to backtrack and make an over the shoulder grab. With the fielder in poor position, pinch-runner Lucy McLogan took off for home, and slid in safely on the incredibly rare sac fly to second.

From there, Camila Leon-Blanco handled business in the circle. She set the Sailfih down in order in the sixth, and then worked around a double in the seventh to secure the win. Her final line read seven innings, five hits, one earned run, and three strikeouts. It was her ninth complete game of the season. Todd paced the offense with two hits and two RBI.

Game Two
Rollins 14, Palm Beach Atlantic 1

Similar to game one, Palm Beach Atlantic was on the board first thanks to an error from the Tars. The Rollins offense more than made up for the gaff, however.

Hejtmanek led off with a bunt single, stole second, and moved to third on a wild pitch. A base hit from Rachel Mattheisen brought her in to tie the game. From there, a walk, five singles, and two errors allowed six more runs to come across, putting the Tars up 7-1.

After a fruitless effort from the Sailfish in the second, Rollins added two runs in the second on a solo home run from Cambrie Todd and a sac fly from Kaeli Zahradnik

Reese Twiggs fired a perfect third, and the offense rewarded her with five more runs. Five hits powered the rally, including RBI from Matthiesen, a three-run triple from senior Emma Gipple, and a base hit RBI from Zahradnik.

Twiggs was flawless in the fourth and fifth innings. To close out the game, head coach Christine Roser-LeFevers allowed senior Brooke Theisen to get some reps in the circle. The senior walked one batter, but then induced a groundout to close the game.

In another nice touch from the skipper, Taylor Hartman started the game for Rollins in the circle. She had not pitched all year due to injury, but was able to face two batters in her final career game.

Gipple had four RBI to lead the offense in game two, setting a career-high in her final game.

Following the double dip, seniors Claire Long, Emma Gipple, Cambrie Todd, Taylor Hartman, Jenna Borkey, and Madi Carr were honored by their teammates and coaches.
