MELBOURNE, Fla. (Nov. 6, 2023) – Rollins golfer Robert Greninger capped off his first fall season as a Tar by being named the Sunshine State Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, it was announced Monday.
The transfer from Eastern Florida State College shot an even-par 72 in the opening round of the Citrus Intercollegiate at ChampionsGate Golf Club, and followed that up with a blistering five-under 67 later on Monday, Oct. 30. On Tuesday, Greninger fired a one-under 71 to wrap up the tournament with a six-under 210, placing him in a three-way tie for second place at the event.
The sophomore recorded a total of 11 birdies and five bogeys over the two days, including just one bogey in each of his second and third rounds. He finished the tournament -4 on par 4s, tied for the fifth-best stroke average with a 3.87, and he was -6 on par 5s, finishing with the second-lowest stroke average of 4.50. His 38 pars were tied for sixth-most in the field and his 11 birdies were tied for ninth-most.
Rollins men's golf is off for the winter season, but will be back in February to start the spring championship season.
