FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. (October 21, 2025) - Men's golf started strong at the Fripp Island to Bermuda Invite, but slid in the final round, finishing eighth in the fifteen-team field on Tuesday.
Monday's morning round saw the Tars fire a 290 (+2), putting them in the top three in the standings.
Jules Haessig led the charge with a three-under 69 that included four birdies.
Sean Dobson checked in with an even 72, and matched Haessig with four birdies.
Andrew Clark eagled 18 and ended the round with a 74, while
Mick Herron chipped in with a 75.
The afternoon round played to a similar score as the Tars once again handed in a 290.
Clarence Chapman III, who earlier in the day was named the SSC Golfer of the Week, was the low man in the second round, posting a one-under 71. His round included four birdies and an eagle on four. Haessig had a wild round with four birdies, but also five straight bogeys on holes 14-18. Still, he came in at just one-over 73. Herron and Clark also had 73 in the round, putting the Tars in 4th place overall.
Tuesday's final round was a struggle for Rollins as none of their golfers came in under par. Herron had the best score with a 73, followed by a 74 from Haessig. Chapman posted five birdies in his round, but finished with a 75. Dobson matched him at 75 as well.
The last round dropped Rollins ot an 8th place finish on the team leaderboard. Lee University had an insane third round, shooting fifteen-under to cruise to the win at -25 overall. Florida Southern was the only SSC school to outplay the Tars, finishing third.
Haessig had the top finish for Rollins with a tie for 14th, shooting even overall. Herron, Chapman, and Dobson all had Top 50 finishes in the 75-man tournament.
Next up for Rollins is the final tournament of the fall. The Tars will head southwest on I-4 to Championsgate for the Citrus Intercollegiate on October 27-28. Rollins took second place in the event last year.
