NCAA Clippd Final Results
Sloppy conditions on Monday morning led to high scores across the board (aside from Florida Southern) in round one.
Jules Haessig was the most efficient for Rollins, posting an even par 72 with three birdies and twelve pars.
Clarence Chapman III used an eagle on 18 to check in with a 75 (+3).
Mick Herron and
Sean Dobson each posted scores of 77 to round out the scoring at 301.
While most of the teams were able to drop their scores in the afternoon round, the Tars found themselves on the opposite track. Haessig's 34 on the back nine helped him salvage a 74 (+2) for the round to lead the way, Herron was a shot behind with a 75, followed by a 78 from Dobson and an 80 from
Andrew Clark for a total of 307 (+19).
In Tuesday's final round, the Tars played like the #13 in the country, posting a 284 (-4), the third-best round of the day. Haessig used five birdies to turn in a 70 (-2). Dobson got hot in the middle of his round, knocking down four birdies in five holes to match his teammate with a 70 of his own. Herron had a strong back nine to finish at even par 72, which is also where Clark ended up.
The strong finish put Rollins at tenth for the event. Florida Southern, the #6 team in the country, took the trophy with a final of -14. Barry was second at -9 and Embry-Riddle was third at +4.
Haessig had the best finish for Rollins on the individual board with an even par 216. Barry's Eduardo Matarazzo was the medalist with a 203.
