Tars Cap Bobcat Invitational in 14th Position

Rollins closed the Bobcat Invitational with a 15 over, 295, to finish the day where they started, ranking 14th at the event

EATONTON, Ga. (March 22, 2022) – Rollins closed the Bobcat Invitational with a 15 over, 295, to finish the day where they started, ranking 14th at the event.  Nicholas Diebel led Rollins with a 54 hole score of 10 over par.

The Tars add their final round score of 15 over, 295, to opening day tallies of 304 and 286.  For the event Rollins totaled a 45 over, 885.  The Tars pulled further away from Young Harris behind them, but ended the tournament five strokes back of 13th place Saint Leo.
 
The Barry Buccaneers held on to the top to take the tournament title with an overall score of three over par.  Lander moved up two spots to earn runner up position.  Florida Southern was the only team under par in the final round, moving up four spots to take third.  Clayton State and West Florida each slid down the rankings over the last 18 holes to sit in a tie for fourth.

Diebel shot one-under on the front nine on his way to a four over, 74, in the final round.  He finished the event in a tie for 48th, at 10 over par.  Warut Wongrungroj shot the low score of the day for the Tars, tallying a 72, and climbed five spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for 52nd, at 11 over.  Danny Taggart carded a final round 74 to tie Wongrungroj on the leaderboard.  Will Koepke added a score of 75 to opening day rounds of 79 and 71, giving him a 225 total, good for a tie for 64th.  Connor Jones tallied a final round 76 complete the Tars' contingent.
 
The Buccaneers' AJ Ewart held on for the individual medalist honors.  Adam Alvarez of Florida Southern charged up the leaderboard, into the runner up spot, one stroke off the lead.  Jake Stoneham of Lander shot one under to claim the third spot.  Six players ended the event in a tied for fourth.
 
UP NEXT:
Rollins will close their regular season at the Battle of the Shores at Normandy Shores Golf Club. The event will tee off on Monday, April 4.
