RALEIGH, N.C. (May 2, 2026) – The Rollins sailing team earned multiple conference honors as the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (SAISA) announced its 2025-26 superlatives, highlighted by freshman
Annie Samis being named Women's Skipper Rookie of the Year.
Samis led a strong showing for the Tars, earning First Team All-SAISA honors among women's skippers while also being recognized as one of the top newcomers in the conference. She was joined on the All-SAISA list by several Rollins teammates across skipper and crew categories, underscoring the program's depth throughout the 2025-26 campaign.
In the skipper ranks, Samis earned First Team honors, while
Shay Bridge was named to the Second Team.
Adelaide Matzky and
Julia Scott also represented Rollins on the Second Team, with Matzky additionally earning recognition as a Women's Rookie of the Year finalist.
On the crew side,
Jane McKenzie was selected All-SAISA, while
Soleil Aurignac and
Mollie Wood were both recognized as finalists for Women's Crew Rookie of the Year.
Rollins also saw representation among rookie skipper honors beyond Samis' top finish, as Matzky was listed among the conference's finalists in the category.
Rollins looks to carry the momentum of this season into Nationals hosted by USF at the SkyBeach Resort in St. Petersburg, Florida, as the 31 seed. The format for the regatta will be two days of Semi-Finals (May 15-16) and two days of Finals (May 17-18). Thirty-six teams will be split into two similar fields of eighteen, competing separately but concurrently in the Semi-Finals. The top nine from each field will advance to the finals.
