CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Tars took to the water at the SAISA Open and Women's Top 9 this past weekend, highlighted by a runner-up finish on the women's side. Rollins finished ninth in the open competition.
Both events featured combined scoring across A and B divisions, with competitors racing 420s and FJs. Fourteen races were completed in each division over the course of the weekend.
The women totaled 148 points to finish second overall, trailing only host College of Charleston. Rollins posted 53 points in the A Division and 95 in the B Division.
In A, skipper
Annie Samis and crew
Jane McKenzie put together a strong showing, finishing inside the top 10 in all 14 races with 11 top-five results. The duo opened the regatta with a runner-up finish before collecting race wins in the fourth and seventh. Samis and McKenzie continued their success late in the event with four consecutive runner-up finishes from races nine through 12.

Adelaide Matzky and crew
Mollie Wood represented the Tars in the B Division, recording 10 top-10 finishes, including seven inside the top five. The pairing gained momentum as the regatta progressed, earning back-to-back race wins in the ninth and 10th races before adding a runner-up finish in race 13.
On the open side, Rollins totaled 413 points, with 211 coming from A Division and 202 from B Division. Skipper

Alexander Goldsmith represented the Tars in A, recording their best result with an 11th-place finish in race nine.
In B Division, skipper
Jack Adderley was joined by crew
Sam Frushone. The duo saved their best result for the final race of the weekend, crossing the line eighth in race 14.
Rollins returns to the water Sept. 26-27 for a pair of events. The Tars will compete at the SAISA Match Race Championship, hosted by the College of Charleston in South Carolina, as well as the JAX Open, hosted by Jacksonville University.
