ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Rollins competed at the SAISA Coed Championships for the Richard Tillman Trophy this weekend, a conference championship regatta sailed in 420s using a two-division scoring format.
Racing on Saturday began in a light southerly around six knots before fading through the second set, forcing the fleet back to shore. A steady westerly filled soon after at 8–10 knots, allowing racing to resume and complete the remainder of the day's schedule. The breeze later shifted northwest but held its strength, with all races sailed on W4 courses to close out the day.
Sunday brought another solid day on Boca Ciega Bay, with a northwest breeze around six knots to start before shifting west and building to 8–12 knots through the afternoon. Courses rotated between W4, W3, and W5 as conditions evolved, allowing the fleet to complete the final sets and wrap up the regatta.
Rollins placed ninth in the 18-team field with 197 total points (104 in A Division, 93 in B).
In A Division,
Milo Miller (skipper) and
Jane McKenzie (crew) raced together for 10 contests, recording five top-10 finishes, highlighted by a third-place result in race six.
Annie Samis stepped in at skipper for the final two races alongside McKenzie, adding another top-five finish with a fourth-place result in the 12th and final race.
In B Division,
Caleb Kinnear (skipper) and
Adelaide Matzky (crew) remained paired throughout the event, producing eight top-10 finishes, including four top-five results. Their top performance came in race eight with a runner-up finish.
Rollins now awaits selections for the ICSA National Championship, set for May 15–22 in Tampa.
