Greetings #TARnation! Looks like the cold weather is behind us, so get the sunscreen out and work on that spring break tan. Our Tars have been putting in big time work, so let's get caught upÂ
- Baseball is one of the hottest teams in the entire country, currently holding a winning streak of 12 games. Last week, they took all three games from Saint Leo, including a ridiculous comeback in the third game of the series. Down 12-1 in the fifth inning, Rollins came all the way back to win 13-12. Then, on Tuesday, they hosted #13 ranked Seton Hill at home, and blew the beaks off the Griffins, 10-3. Collin Hughes leads the SSC in batting average (.517) and hits (30), Matt Mateo leads the SSC in home runs (7) and slugging (.825), and Brett Dennis is second in wins with 4.Â
-- Also a big shoutout to head coach Jon Sjogren on earning his 900th career victory with Sunday's win at Saint Leo!Â
- Men's tennis remains undefeated to start the year after picking up wins on the road at Palm Beach Atlantic and at home against #18 Wingate (a 4-0 sweep by the way). Coach Jay Friendman's guys are clicking right now, and were just moved up to #20 in the ITA national poll this afternoon. Â
- Rowing opened their year in emphatic fashion, sweeping all four races on Lake Maitland over the weekend. The Tars captured first place in the Varisty 8, Varsity 4, Second Varsity 4, and Novice 4, flying past Barry and Nova Southeastern.Â
- Sailing enjoyed a couple of quality efforts in their split squad action. In Charleston, the Tars took fourth-place in the ten team field at the Mendelblatt Open. A little closer to home, Rollins also snagged a second-place (of 11) finish at the Halifax River Invitational, hosted by Embry-Riddle.Â
- Women's lacrosse welcomed the Westminster Griffins to Cahall-Sandspur Field on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, and delivered a monster offensive performance, winning 20-8. Delaney Hudson, Kali Gagnon, and Katie Bell all had hat tricks, with 13 different Tars scoring in the contest.Â
- Softball dropped their series to a tough #15 Saint Leo squad, but bounced back nicely with two wins against #14 Sginaw Valley State on Monday, winning 9-3 and 9-8.  Kaeli Zahradnik ripped a double off the center field wall in the sixth inning of the nightcap to bring home Jenna Borkey, securing the win for Rollins.Â
- Women's tennis took home a SSC road win at Palm Beach Atlantic with a 4-2 effort, before dropping their first match of the year against #24 Wingate on Monday in a 4-3 thriller. Nisan Can remains unbeaten this season, going 7-0 in singles play from the second and third positions.Â
- Men's basketball saw their season come to a close on Tuesday in the SSC quarterfinals against #1 Nova Southeastern, 104-91. Michael Niemann provided one of the highlights of the year for the Tars, coming off the bench in the first half and knocking down four straight three-pointers in a 114-second span to erase an early eleven-point deficit. Earlier this afternoon, seniors Jah Nze (2nd Team) and Omar Figueroa (3rd Team) were named to the All-SSC squad. Congrats boys!
- Men's lacrosse dropped an overtime heartbreaker on the road at #17 Flagler, 14-13. Conor Sweeney, Aaron Williams, and Sean Caracciolo each had hat tricks in the contest. Brady Greco was the winner on 21-26 faceoffs, earning his second SSC Specialist of the Week award.Â
- Tennis is in the fun part of their schedule as teams from all over the country descend upon Florida to get some spring break action in . The women will play three matches this week against Charleston, St. Thomas (MN), and D'Youville. On the men's side, it's matchups against Charleston, #1 Barry (at home!), and Bucknell. Both teams are ranked in the national polls, so be sure to come check out some top tier tennis!
- Softball is on the road to Daytona to play in the Eagle Classic. They will see Tiffin and Assumption on Friday, and Assumption again on Saturday. Then it's back home to host the Caldwell Cougars on Monday night from MLK park.Â
- #16 Women's lacrosse is taking their talents to Georgia for a couple of road region games. Friday night's opponent is Alabama Huntsville, followed by a Sunday scrum with Young Harris.Â
- Rowing is home again, this time hosting the Rollins Invitational on Lake Maitland.Â
- Sailing has the distinct honor of traveling to Annapolis, Maryland to take part in the Jen Harris Women's Race, hosted by Navy.  This elite event showcases some of the top boats in the country, with a field that includes #1 Stanford, #2 Brown, #3 Harvard, #7 Cornell, and #8 Georgetown! Head coach Esteban Forrer is excited for his team to gain valuable experience against the nation's best, and heck, maybe come away with a win or two.Â
- Men's lacrosse continues their road journey as they head south to West Palm Beach to take on the Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic. The Tars have never lost to PBA, going 9-0 against them since 2018.Â
- #22 Men's golf is off to Valdosta, Georgia on Monday and Tuesday to play in the annual Southeastern Intercollegiate, hosted by Valdosta State at Kinderlou Forest.Â
- #20 Baseball has the weekend off before heading back to Alfond Stadium on Tuesday for a mid-week matchup against the Concordia-St. Paul Bears. The two teams have never met on the diamond before, so come witness history!
