The Rollins Sports Hall of Fame highlights a busy Alumni Weekend

March 25, 2026

Greetings #TARnation! Alumni weekend has arrived, and with it, hundreds of proud Tars returning to Winter Park as well as the annual Rollins Sports Hall of Fame ceremony. But before we look ahead, let's recap the last week of action:

- Men's lacrosse celebrated their senior class in the best way, blowing out the Lynn Fighting Knights in a 17-8 victory. Senior Logan Myers led the way with three goals and an assist, while Aaron Williams, Nate Paulo, Avery Kamuf, and Zachary Blinkoff all added two goals each. In what's becoming a weekly tradition, Brady Greco won 19-23 faceoffs, earning his fourth SSC Specialist of the Week award.

- Women's lacrosse scored a nice home win over #21 Saint Anselm on Wednesday, winning 15-11. Delanie Abere tallied five goals in the match while Molly Mendes added three goals and two helpers. The Tars took on #5 Embry-Riddle in Daytona last night, but fell just short in their comeback, falling 18-15. Mendes had five goals in the loss.

- Men's tennis has now won six straight matches with wins over Emporia State and Millenia Atlantic. They also scrimmaged D-1 Brown University on Monday, and did well hanging with the Bears. The Tars have shot up to #11 in the latest ITA national poll.

- Men's golf took sixth place at the Shark Invitational in Ft. Lauderdale, finishing at even par. Clarence Chapman III led the charge, tying for 6th overall with a four-under 209 that included twelve birdies. Shout out to Gustav Ordel who fired a 68 in round two of his first career collegiate tournament.

- Women's tennis was a winner in their lone match of the week, cruising past St. Thomas (FL) on the orad with a 5-2 victory.  Alyssa Novoa, Nisan Can, and Amina Abduloeva all earned straight set victories in singles.

- Baseball took the first game of their series at Nova Southeastern by a score of 6-3, but dropped both ends of Saturday's doubleheader. Matt Mateo was solid throughout the weekend,  collecting five hits while raising his season average from .370 to .381.

- Softball split a midweek doubleheader at Valdosta State, but then dropped all three of their contests at home against Nova Southeastern.
