Greetings #TARnation!
You're refreshed. You're relaxed. You're locked in, looking to finish the second half of fall semester strong. And guess what? So are the Tars! Here's a quick recap of last week's action:
-Swimming looked strong in their meet versus New College of Florida on Saturday. The men cruised to a 170-34 win, while the women weren't far behind with a 151-40 victory of their own. The Tars won 22 of 24 of the days events, often sweeping the top two spots in each. Alexa Kwarcinski captured the Sunshine State Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week award with wins in the 200 medley relay, 100 free, 100 IM, and 200 free relay.
-Sailing captured second place at the Dick Allsop Trophy at Jacksonville University. Annie Samis and Jane McKenzie were phenomenal in their four races on Saturday, capturing fourth, first, third, and another first. Other tandems included Caleb Kinnear/Adelaide Matzky (best finish: third), Jack Adderley/Aidan McKoin (best finish: third), and Noah Belson/Alexander Goldsmith (best finish: fourth).Â
-Men's golf took fifth place at the 17-team Copperhead Invitational at Innisbrook Golf Club in Palm Harbor. Packy Mokris finished ninth overall, breaking 70 twice in three rounds. Sean Dobson was 11th, helped by an electric 66 in his second round. In today's NCAA Clippd rankings, the Tars found themselves ranked #16 in the country, with Mokris the top-ranked individual at #24.Â
-Volleyball had three matches in five days, posting a 1-2 record. Their win came at home against Saint Leo in the form of a 3-0 sweep. It was a nice cherry on top of a fun night that featured the annual Colorful and Courageous initiative in which players, coaches, and fans donate coloring books, markers, crayons, and more to children suffering from disease.Â
-Both soccer teams suffered a loss against the Barry Buccaneers. On the women's side at home, the Bucs earned a 3-0 win over Rollins. The men were in Miami Shores, and despite a pair of goals from Finlay Prain, were not able to come all the way back as they fell 3-2.Â
-Waterski headlines the busy week as they travel to the west coast to participate in the NCWSA National Championship. The Tars have finished 6th or better for ten straight years, and will look to continue the trend in 2026. The Tars' strongest events are men's slalom, men's tricks, and women's tricks ... but a wave of talented freshmen will have Rollins competing in everything! Thursday will feature men's tricks and women's slalom; Friday is men's slalom and women's jump; Saturday will close out the event with women's tricks and men's jump. Live stat and video links are on RollinsSports.com!Â
-Women's soccer (6-4-1) opens their week with a trip to Ft. Lauderdale tonight, and will celebrate their senior class on Saturday at the final regular season home game against Eckerd. The Tars currently sit tied for third in the SSC table, with the Sharks and Tritons above them, making both matches HUGE for playoff implications. Come out and support the senior class at The 'Spur on Saturday night!
-Men's soccer (4-4-2) will play at home tonight against Nova Southeastern, and on the road Saturday at Eckerd. A pair of wins would vault Rollins to the upper third of the standings, putting them in position to host a SSC tournament game.Â
-Both tennis teams are back in action following a couple weeks off. They will head to Lakeland to play in the ITA South Regional. The individual bracket-style tournament is a main component for the individual national rankings that will release in January. Last year, Alyssa Novoa played well enough to earn a berth in the ITA Individual National Championship; both teams will look to send at least one more Tar that way in 2026!Â
-Women's golf is ranked #8 nationally as of today's hot-off-the-press NCAA rankings. They will wrap up their fall slate with their annual trip to Chapel Hill to partake in UNC's Tar Heel Invitational, and then turn around to immediately play in University of Richmond's Spider Invitational. Addy Vogt, fresh off of her win at the NCAA Championship preview two weeks ago, is currently ranked #1 in the South Region and #2 in the country! She's not the only Tar in the top ten however; fellow soph Youyang Li is #8 overall.
-Men's golf earned the #16 national rank in today's release, and will wrap up their fall season at the loaded Citrus Intercollegiate, held at Championsgate Golf Club in south Orlando. Sophomore Packy Mokris, who played in just one event as a freshman, is currently ranked #24 in the country.Â
-Volleyball (11-9) is on the road for a pair of games at Florida Tech (4-13) on Friday and #11 Barry (12-4) on Saturday. A pair of wins would put them in the top half of the SSC standings.Â
-Sailing is sending their women's fleet to the Naval Academy for the ACT Finals this weekend.Â
-Swimming will have a tough SSCÂ matchup on Saturday when they face the #2 ranked (on both sides) Tampa Spartans.Â
