OCALA, Fla. (February 16, 2025) – The Rollins men's swimming team ended up in fifth place at the Sunshine State Conference Championships, held at Florida F.A.S.T. in Ocala. The Tars amassed a total of 408.5 points, finishing behind Tampa (833.5 points), Florida Southern (596), Nova Southeastern (564), and Lynn (509).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Seth Basinger kicked off the night with a fifth-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle, posting a B-cut time of 15:44.47 to score 14 points.
- Keanu Garnier-Chan (16:23.49, 11th place, 6 points) and Andrew Boles (16:25.27, 12th place, 5 points) also scored for the Tars in that event.
- William Slowey placed third in the 100-yard freestyle with a B-cut time of 43.55, adding 16 points to the team total.
- Luke Dinges finished fourth in the 200-yard backstroke with a B-cut time of 1:45.46, earning 15 points.
- Nicholas Bonta (1:49.75, 10th place, 7 points) and Skylar Murphy (1:50.90, 13th place, 4 points) also earned points in the event.
- Evan McInerny finished fourth in the B Final, 12th overall, of the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:02.23, tallying five points.
- Slowey, Basinger, Luke Dinges, and Trey Carter posted a sixth-place time of 2:58.96 in the 400-yard freestyle relay to close out the evening, scoring 26 points.
- The quartet of Michael Tucker, Garnier-Chan, Evan Larson, and Ricky Riley was sixth in the B Final, 141th overall, in 3:05.77, earning six more points.

The Tars will now wait to see which athletes qualify for the NCAA II Championships, which take place March 12-15 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
