Tars Wrap Up Day Two of NCAA South Regional

Rollins shot a 305 on Tuesday

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (May 9,, 2023) - Women's golf was able to get their second round in before a lightning delay paused play on Tuesday afternoon. The tars combined to shoot a 305 as a team, seven strokes better than their effort in the first round. They currently sit in eighth place with six teams still to finish their round.

Tove Rosengren had a rollercoaster of a round. Her card included five bogeys and a double, but she also managed to secure five birdies to finish at two over 74. In her first round of action, she did not have any birdies. Katharina Hesse matched Rosengren on the scorecard with a 74 as well, moving her to +5 for the event. She birdied holes four and fourteen on Tuesday. Hesse currently sits in a tie for 9th overall on the individual leaderboard. 

Carla Alvarez tied Hesse for the team lead in pars with twelve on the day. She finished with one birdie to her name and a 76 (+4) for the day. Elizabeth Kondal rounded out the official scores for the Tars with an 81 (+9). She added two birdies to her scorecard on seven and sixteen.

The final round of the event will tee off on Wednesday morning. The top five teams from the field of twelve will advance to the NCAA Championship in Eureka, Missouri next week.
