GAINESVILLE, Fla. (May 10, 2023) - The women's golf team saw the season come to a close following an eighth-place finish at the NCAA South Regional at Chatahoochee Golf Club on Wednesday.

The Tars improved their team score each day of the event, including the final round on Wednesday where they shot a 304.
Rollins received a solid effort from
Berni Villalba who led tied
Carla Alvarez for the best round of the day from a Tar. She birdied sixteen, had four bogeys, and then hit par on the other thirteen holes to finish with a 75 (+3). Alvarez matched her 75 with a round that included birdies on seven and thirteen, five bogeys, and eleven pars. She totaled 36 pars for the event, the sixth-most in the field.
Tove Rosengren had the most pars on the day with fourteen. Coupled with four bogeys, she turned in a sheet of 76 (+4).
Katharina Hesse was the final scorer for the team on Wednesday. The All-SSC first-teamer posted twelve pars and six bogeys for a 78 (+6). She wrapped up the event at +11, tied for 14th on the individual leaderboard.
The Lynn Fighting Knights showed why they are the top team in Division II, winning the event by twelve strokes over second-place Anderson University. Tampa's Ana Maria Jimenez Rios took home the individual title with a +1 effort across her three rounds.
