Li Named SSC Women's Golfer of the Week

Freshman won the Lynn Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. (April 6, 2026) - The Sunshine State Conference announced their award winners for games played March 30-April 5 on Monday afternoon. Among the honorees was Rollins freshman Youyang Li, who was named the Women's Golfer of the Week.

Li led the Tars to a third-place finish in the 13-team field at the Lynn Invitational, played at Boca Woods Country Club last Monday and Tuesday. Using a phenomenal final round, Li was awarded the individual trophy winner, finishing with a 219 (+3).

Her first two rounds on Monday were nothing spectacular as she carded a 76 (+4) in each session. That had Li sitting in 20th place overall heading into Tuesday morning. In her final effort, she put together the best round of her young collegiate career. Starting in hole three, she shot par on the first three holes, followed by a birdie and another par. A bogey on the par four eighth brought her back to even, she responded with another birdie on nine. Li's back nine was phenomenal, as she went bogey-free on holes 10-18, including birdies on 11, 13, 16, and 18. She then wrapped up her day with par on one and two to finish with a five-under 67.

That put her in a three-way tie for first place on the individual board. In lieu of a playoff, Li was awarded the individual trophy for having the lowest score of the day.

Her win and the Tars' third-place finish saw them jump to #17 in the latest Clippd rankings. Li also moved up to a #54 national ranking as an individual.

She is the second Rollins freshman to earn a SSC Player of the Week award this year, following Lindsay Lee back in October.

The Tars will compete in the SSC Chapionship beginning on Sunday April 12.
