DADE CITY, Fla. (April 18, 2023) - The Rollins women's golf team posted a 17-over 305 on Tuesday to hold on to second place at the Sunshine State Conference Championships at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City.
Katharina Hesse was the only player in the field to shoot under par on Tuesday, helping her move up into a tie for second individually.

The first pairing of the day teed off at 7:45 a.m., but the Tars didn't get started until 10:25 a.m., with all five golfers being paired up with players from Lynn.
Elizabeth Kondal was the first to tee off, shooting an eight-over 80 to finish the event tied for 36th at +19. Next up was
Tove Rosengren who carded a pair of birdies, but finished with a 77 (+5), placing her in a tie for 18th overall at +13. Bernie Villalba was the third Tar on the course, recording a 10-over 82 to finish the tournament in 25th place at +15.
Carla Alvarez Perez was the second-to-last Rollins golfer to hit the links on Monday. After a tough start, shooting a six-over 42 on the front nine, she was very consistent on the final nine holes, carding one bogey, one birdie, and seven pars to finish the round at six-over 78, which placed her in a tie for seventh in the event at +8.
Katharina Hesse was the final Tar to tee off on Tuesday, and she played a magnificent round of golf to cap things off. After an even-par 36 on the front nine, Hesse knocked out four birdies against just two bogies on the back nine, finishing the day with a two-under 70, three shots better than an other competitor. Her final round score bumped her up to a tie for second overall with a one-under 215, making her one of only three golfers to finish the tournament under par.
Rollins concluded the tournament with an 896 (294-297-305), finishing 20 strokes behind Lynn (288-288-300=876) and four strokes ahead of Tampa (300-295-305=900).
Next up for the Tars will be the NCAA II South Region Tournament, which will be held in Gainesville, Georgia. That event is set to take place May 8-10.
