LAKELAND, Fla. (February 21, 2023) - A very strong team round on Tuesday morning helped the Rollins Tars to a 5th place finish in an 18-team field at the 2023 Lady Moc Classic, hosted by Florida Southern.
Rollins turned in a team card of 294 on Tuesday, with no player shooting worse than +3 on the day. Leading the charge was
Katharina Hesse who matched her second-round score with a one-under 71.
Tove Rosengren had her best round of the event, finishing with a +1 73. The final three for the group ...

Elizabeth Kondal, and
Berni Villalba ... each shot a 75 to give Rollins a final count of 294.
Hesse nailed three birdies in her final round 71. Her rounds on Monday included a 74 and a 71, giving her an overall score of 216, good for a 7th place individual finish. She has now finished in the top 10 of each tournament of the young 2023 spring season.
Rosengren climbed 15 places on the leaderboard during the final round, and finished tied for 32nd at 226, +10 overall. She had rounds of 75, 78, and 73 in the event.
The #2 ranked Lynn Fighting Knights dominated the field in this one, finishing with a team score of 850 (-14), setting a new record for the Lady Moc Classic. The Knights placed four in the individual Top 10, including the overall winner, Maria Hoyos who shot 206 (-10).
The other SSC teams who competed were: Nova Southeastern (871, 2nd), Florida Southern (888, 4th), Tampa (897, 6th), Barry (904, 9th), Saint Leo (914, 11th), Eckerd (915, 12th), Palm Beach Atlantic (917, 13th), and Embry-Riddle (944, 16th).
Rollins next event is a doozy. The Tars will be traveling to Oahu, Hawaii to take part in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on March 6-7.
