CLEARWATER, Fla. (Feb. 19, 2023) – The Rollins women's swimming team earned 95 points on Saturday, bringing its total to 361.5 points, to claim fifth place at the 2023 SSC Championships at the Long Center in Clearwater, Fla.

Nova Southeastern won the championship with 1041 points, followed by Tampa (834.5 points) and Lynn (450 points). The Tars finished just behind Florida Southern (407 points), while besting Florida Tech (252 points) and Saint Leo (249 points).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Jill Hughes achieved an NCAA "B" cut in the 1650-yard freestyle with a fifth-place time of 17:12.01.
- Elizabeth Sander won the "B" final and scored nine points with a time of 2:03.71 in the 200-yard backstroke.
- Abigayle Wood hit a "B" standard and placed third in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking a 2:18.74.
- The team of Sander, Alonna Clark, Dylan Beeson, and Sarah Brown capped the night with a seventh-place time of 3:32.26 in the 400-yard freestyle relay, adding 24 points to the team total.

The Tars will find out which swimmers will get the chance to compete at the 2023 NCAA II Swimming and Diving Championships when the official qualification lists are announced on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
