CLEARWATER, Fla. (Feb. 15, 2023) – The Rollins women's swimming team tallied 36 points to sit in fifth place after the opening day of the SSC Championships at the Long Center in Clearwater, Fla. The 800-yard freestyle relay was the only event contested on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Rollins' "A" team of Jill Hughes, Erika Wesch, Amelia Kondal, and Alonna Clark touched the wall in sixth place in 7:38.82, just over three seconds behind fifth-place Florida Southern and nearly four seconds ahead of seventh-place Florida Tech, earning 26 points.
- The Tars' "B" team of Mary-Kate McCann, Elliot Fox, Dylan Beeson, and Katherine Canty placed fourth in the "B" final and 12th overall with a time of 7:54.50, collecting 10 points.

The Tars will continue at the conference meet over the next four days, with prelims starting at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning and finals beginning at 6 p.m.
