BOCA RATON, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2023) – The Rollins women's swimming team earned its second straight meet win on Saturday, downing Lynn by a score of 157-105. The Tars are now 6-5 in dual meets this year, while the Fighting Knights drop to 5-7.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Amelia Kondal, Abigayle Wood, Sarah Brown, and Elizabeth Sander kicked the day off with a second-place time of 1:49.00 in the 200-yard medley relay.
- Jill Hughes grabbed a first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:36.89, finishing almost 20 seconds of second place.
- Alonna Clark took second in the 200-yard freestyle, posting a time of 1:56.04.
- Danielle Boland clocked a second-place time of 1:00.87 in the 100-yard backstroke.
- Wood won the second event of the day for the Tars, winning the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:05.63.
- Lauren Diehl made it back-to-back victories with a winning time of 2:09.74 in the 200-yard butterfly.
- Dylan Beeson took home second in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.37.
- Brown touched the wall third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.02.
- Sander stopped the clock in 2:11.27 to take second in the 200-yard backstroke.
- Wood got her second win of the meet with a winning time of 2:22.06 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
- Hughes took home her second event win of the day when she won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:08.49.
- Brown earned a second-place result in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.15.
- Kondal won the final individual event of the meet, posting a winning time of 2:13.08 in the 200-yard individual medley.
- Rollins closed the day with the team of Wood, Boland, Lydia Bohannon, and Sander taking second place in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:40.46.
UP NEXT:
The Tars will return to the pool next Saturday when they host Florida Tech on Senior Day at the Alfond Swimming Pool. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m.
