WINTER PARK, Fla. (Jan. 14, 2023) – The Rollins men's swimming team fell to visiting No. 8 Wingate by a score of 204-59 on a cold Saturday at the Alfond Swimming Pool. The Tars now stand at 2-7 in dual meets this season, while the Bulldogs improve to 1-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Chance Ricca earned a third-place result with a 9:56.74 in the 1000-yard freestyle.
- Trey Carter added another third-place finish for the Tars with a time of 1:46.27 in the 200-yard freestyle.
- Tully Njoroge (1:00.41) and Patrick Lester (1:02.06) took second and third place, respectively, in the 100-yard breaststroke.
- William Slowey touched the wall second in the 50-yard freestyle in 21.95, with Cruse Sweeney close behind in third in 22.17.
- The 200-yard backstroke saw Nicholas Bonta (2:01.35) and Skylar Murphy (2:01.38) earn second- and third-place finishes.
- Connor Xu came home second in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:11.43.
- Ricca clocked a second-place time of 4:47.44 in the 500-yard freestyle.
- Rollins ended the meet with a second-place showing in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Sweeney, Ricca, Carter, and Slowey posted a time of 1:27.72.

The Tars will hit the road next weekend for a pair of away meets, beginning with a contest at Saint Leo on Friday, Jan. 20 at 3 p.m.
