Tars Move Up to Fifth on Final Day of Jay Jennison Cup

Drew Lanier finished tied for sixth after shooting two-under on Tuesday

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Sept. 27, 2022) – The Rollins men's golf team fired a four-over 292 on Tuesday in the third and final round of the Jay Jennison Cup, moving up one spot to finish fifth in the tournament. Drew Lanier (72-75-70=217) was the top finisher for the Tars, shooting a two-under 70 on Tuesday to jump up to a tie for sixth place on the individual leaderboard.
 
Warut Wongrungroj (75-76-70=221) also posted a two-under 70 on Tuesday, jumping from 30th to finish tied for 16th. Axel Einarsson (76-77-74=227) moved up 10 spots to tie for 30th, alongside Connor Jones (72-76-79=227). Danny Taggart (77-75-78=230) finished three strokes behind them in 39th.
 
Playing as individuals, Jacob Hair finished tied for 40th with a 231 (74-76-81) and Will Koepke tied for 51st with a 234 (76-80-78).
 
Lenoir-Rhyne was the only team to shoot under par on Tuesday, posting a one-under 287 to move up two spots and claim the team title (294-289-287=870). Mount Olive fell to second place with an 874 (293-285-296), followed by Wingate in third (299-288-296=883) and the hosts, Flagler, in fourth (287-293-307-887). The Tars took fifth (295-302-292=889) after shooting the day's second-lowest round of 292, bested only by the tournament champions, Lenoir-Rhyne.
 
Belmont Abbey's Will Locey took the individual crown with a two-under 214 (71-69-74). There was a three-way tie for second, with Lenoir-Rhyne's Liam Waldron (73-74-68), Embry-Riddle's Ian Aldarondo (72-71-72), and Mount Olive's Max Lindlad (73-69-73) all carding 215s. Wingate's Colin Dutton (72-68-76) rounded out the top five with a 216.
 
UP NEXT:
The Tars will be back on the links next week when they travel to the Grande Oaks Country Club in Fort Lauderdale to take part in Nova Southeastern's Shark Invitational. Rounds one and two will be held on Monday, Oct. 3, with the final round scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 4.
