Tars Still in the Hunt at South Regional

The Tars sit ninth, and eight strokes out of an NCAA Championship qualifying spot

DAVIE, Fla. (May 3, 2022) – Rollins climbed a pair of places on the leaderboard after day two of the NCAA South Regional Championship at Grande Oaks Golf Club.  The Tars sit ninth, and eight strokes out of an NCAA Championship qualifying spot.  Katharina Hesse led Rollins shooting one over on the day.

The Tars bettered their first round score by nine strokes, carding a second round, 299.  Rollins is 39 over par, with a 36 hole tally of 607.  The Tars climbed past Columbus State and West Florida.  They sit just behind Lee University, with Lynn, Tampa, and Barry also between the Tars and finals qualification.
 
Anderson climbed into first place, with a two round score of 21 over par.  Limestone used the day's low round to rise four spots into second position.  Sunshine State Conference schools Nova Southeastern and Saint Leo are tied for third, with Barry rounding out the top five.

Katharina Hesse was the rounds big riser, climbing 25 spots with a second round score of 72, one over par.  The junior has tallied a two round score of seven over, to sit in a tie for 11th.  Carla Alvarez Perez added a round of 74 to her opening round of 76, to sit in a tie for 17th, one stroke back of Hesse at eight over.  Elizabeth Kondal shot a 76 in her second round, improving by one stroke from her first 18 holes, sitting in a tie for 35th.  Bernardita Villalba tallied a 77 to remain in 44th position.  Olivia Tamburlini rounds out the Rollins lineup with an 83 to sit in 63rd position.
 
Ebba Hellman, of Limestone, shot the only under par round of the first 36 holes to rise to the top of the leaderboard with a two round total of two over, 144. Saint Leo's Francesca Santoni is one stroke back of the lead.  Anderson's Jessica Rathbone and Columbus State's Victorica Libaak are tied for third.  There is a three way tie for the fifth spot.
