Tars Fourth at Lynn Invitational

Rollins remained near the top of the leaderboard, finishing the Lynn University Invitational in a tie for fourth position

BOCA RATON, Fla. (April 5, 2022) – Rollins remained near the top of the leaderboard, finishing the Lynn University Invitational in a tie for fourth position.  Carla Alvarez Perez led Rollins with a 15th place result.  Teams finished their second round of play today, which was halted by weather during the first day of action, before finishing the tournament with their final 18 holes.

The Tars finished the second round with a score of 12 over par, 300.  Rollins then carded a 310 in the third round.  The Tars added those rounds to a 299, bringing their 54 hole total to 909, 45 over par.
 
Dallas Baptist registered the only sub-300 final round, as they climbed to the top of the leaderboard.  Barry jumped two spots to take second.  Seminole State, who were on top after day one, fell back to third place with a 30 over par final round.  Rollins and the hosts, Lynn, tied for fourth to round out the top five.

Carla Alvarez Perez shot Rollins low final round, which included a birdie on her final hole, as she rose two spots to grab a top 15 finish.  Bernardita Villalba carded 73, 76, and 78 over the three rounds, good for an 18th place result, at 11 over.  Elizabeth Kondal registered a 54 hole total of 13 over, 229, coming on scores of 77, 75, 77, to finish in a tie for 25th.  Liza Eubanks and Olivia Tamburlini tied for 32nd to complete the Rollins lineup.
 
Julia Garcia, at one over for the event, took individual medalist honors, as one of three Dallas Baptist golfers in the top five.  Seminole State's Grace Aromando earned runner up position, one stroke off the lead.  Jordan Karrh of Dallas Baptist and Carolin Alblas of Keiser tied for third, while Olivia Mitchell of Dallas Baptist and Emilie Bjorge of Tampa tied for fifth.
 
UP NEXT:
The Tars will prepare for postseason action as the head to Plantation Bay Golf and Country Club in Ormond Beach, Florida for the Sunshine State Conference Championships.  Action tees off on Sunday, April 10.
