Tars Slip to 17th at Southeastern Collegiate

Danny Taggart led the way for the Tars with a tie for 44th position.

VALDOSTA, Ga. (March 15, 2022) – The Tars slipped to 17th in the final round of the Southeastern Collegiate at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.  Danny Taggart led the way for the Tars with a tie for 44th position.

The Tars registered a 20 over par 308 in the final 18 holes. They add that score to rounds of 295 and 300 on the first day for a 54 hole total of 903, 39 over.  The score put Rollins in 17th position, ahead of Florida Tech, and seven shots back of the hosts, Valdosta State, and Georgia College, in a tie for 15th.
 
Lincoln Memorial held on for the Tournament victory, edging Columbus State, who had also held a share of the 36 stroke lead, by one stroke.  Lee rounds out the podium spots in third.  Lander and Georgia Southwestern round out the top five.

Taggart carded a 75, to add to opening round scores of 74 and 74, giving him a seven over 223 for the event.  Connor Jones tied for 59th in his Rollins debut, shooting 72, 77, and 77.  Will Koepke shot the Tars low round of the day, with a 74, giving him 230 for the event, good for a tie for 76thWarut Wongrungroj and Nicholas Diebel tallied 78th and 82nd position respectively.
 
Jordan Duoll of Columbus State overtook Jonty Marshall of Tampa to capture individual medalist honors.  Beck Burnette of Lee was the days big mover, jumping 21 spots to finish third.  Pontus Samulesson of Limestone and Alejandro Madariaga of Lynn tied for fourth.

On Tuesday, March 22, the Tars will head to Eatonton, Georgia for the Bobcat Invitational at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee.
