Box Score 2 WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 13, 2022) – The Tars swept doubleheader action over the Bloomsburg Huskies, as they close out the non-conference portion of their schedule. Rollins took game one in shutout fashion, 4-0, before holding for game two, 6-5. The Tars improve to 13-4 overall. Bloomsburg falls to 6-6 on the year.

GAME ONE: Rollins 4, Bloomsburg 0
The seven, eight, and nine hitters powered the Rollins offense in game one. Taylor Waters starred, going 3-3 with a double, a RBI, and a pair of runs scored. Grace Germer went 1-2 at the plate, and touched home plate twice as well, while Lexi Moore went 1-2 and drove in a pair of runs. Ashley Worrell dominated in the circle, tossing the full 7.0 innings, allowing just three scattered hits, and striking out eight.

A trio of Huskies each tallied one hit. Savannah Doney picked up the loss, throwing 3.1 innings, and giving up a pair of runs. Callie Sowers also gave up two runs, pitching 2.2 frames in relief.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Second Inning
- The Huskies loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the second, but Worrell registered two strikeouts and a fielder's choice groundout to escape the jam.
- The Tars would capitalize, taking the lead in the bottom of the frame.
- Waters reached on a one out single before maneuvering around the bases on a failed pick off, a wild pitch, and scoring when Lexi Moore reached base on an error.
Fourth Inning
- Germer sparked the Rollins fourth, leading off the inning by getting hit by a pitch.
- The sophomore then stole second, and advanced to third on a Waters single.
- Germer finally crossed the plate on a Lexi Moore sacrifice fly.
Sixth Inning
- Germer reached base with a one out bunt single. She would come around to score one the next batter when Waters drove a double to the right center field wall, making the score 3-0.
- Moore then drove Watters across the plate with a single that made its way through the right side of the infield.
Seventh Inning
- Bloomsburg managed a one out baserunner in the seventh, but Worrell remained unbothered, retiring the final two batters to secure the win.

GAME TWO: Rollins 6, Bloomsburg 5
Grace Germer continued her hot day, going 2-3 at the plate.Â
Tyler Jo Colby went 1-2, blasting a homerun.Â
Ashley Troutman went 1-2 at the plate with a double, a walk, and two runs scored.Â
Raiven Bryant and
Ashley Worrell each tallied an RBI.Â
Emily MacMullen picked up the win, throwing five innings.Â

Bella Culp was the offensive star for Bloomsburg. The freshman went 2-3 with a run scored and a pair of RBI. Kelly Eberly got the start for the Huskies and threw three innings, giving up three runs. Callie Sowers made her second relief appearance of the day, giving up three runs while tossing the final three frames.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Third Inning
- The Tars opened the third with a Jaden Walker single and an Ashley Troutman double, putting runners on second and third with no outs.
- Raiven Bryant then laid down a bunt that scored Walker for the first run of the day.
- Troutman was able to swipe home on a double steal for the Tars, with Bryant also advancing to second on the play.
- A pair of fly outs, one from Chelsea Peace and the other from Ashley Worrell plated Bryant to give the Tars a 3-0 lead after three.
Fifth Inning
- Troutman led off the fifth with a walk, and moved to second on a groundout. Chelsea Peace moved the leadoff batter to third with a single.
- Troutman then registered her second steal of home of the game to give the Tars a 4-0 advantage.
- Tyler Jo Colby then put the match out of reach for Rollins lofting a homerun over the left field fence for a two run homerun.
Sixth Inning
- The Huskies would battle back. They started their rally by loading the bases, before scoring a pair of runs with back-to-back hit batters.
- Bloomsburg would register another pair of runs on a bases loaded double, but Grace Germer threw out a Husky at home to keep a fifth Bloomsburg run off the board.
- Worrell then induced a pair of ground outs, and Rollins went into the final frame leading 6-4.
Seventh Inning
- The Huskies took advantage of a pair of walks to pull within one run in the final frame.
- The defense again came up big with Taylor Waters catching a line drive to register the final out.
UP NEXT:
The Tars will host the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish in Sunshine State Conference action. Game one of the three game set is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, March 18.
