Olivieri Opens 2022 Swim Championships

Beatriz Olivieri opened her swimming at the 2022 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship by competing in the 100 Yard Butterfly and the 200 Yard Freestyle

GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 10, 2022) – Beatriz Olivieri opened her swimming at the 2022 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships by competing in the 100 Yard Butterfly and the 200 Yard Freestyle.  The senior would qualify for the Championship Final in the freestyle swim, finishing eighth.
 
Olivieri clocked a 55.96 in the 100 Yard Butterfly to begin her day.  The time ranked 23rd at the event.  The Brazilian then stopped the time in 1:49.79 in her first 200 Yard Freestyle swim of the day, ranking fourth in the preliminary event, and sending her to the finals.
 
Olivieri was in the middle of a crowded field throughout the 200 Yard Freestyle Final.  After the four lengths just two seconds separated third through eighth positions.  Olivieri tallied the eighth place finish, collecting 11 point for the Tars.

Olivieri will return to the pool for another pair of events, the 500 Yard Freestyle and the 200 Yard Butterfly, tomorrow, Friday, March 11
