FEBRUARY 17, 2022 (CLEARWATER, Fla.) – After the first full day of swimming at the Sunshine State Conference Championships the Tars sit in seventh.

During the morning session
Anna Van Zyverden started the swimming for Rollins, qualifying for the A-Final in the 50 Yard Freestyle with an NCAA B-Cut time of 23.94. The Tars ranked four swimmers in the top-16 of the 1000 Yard Prelims. The quartet was led by
Jill Hughes in fifth and
Erika Wesch in sixth. They were followed by Abbey Frey in ninth and
Alana Goodwin in tenth.Â
Morgan Reilly snuck into the B-Final of the 200 Yard Individual Medley with a 16
th place qualifying time of 2:08.68.

In the night swim Hughes led Rollins with a NCAA B-Cut time and a twelfth place finish, with a time of 10:21.42 in the 1000 Yard Freestyle final. Wesch also tallied points for Rollins with a 14
th place result.

Morgan registered a point for the Tars with a 16
th place result in the 200 Yard Individual Medley, stopping the clock with a time of 2:07.37.

Van Zyverden improved on her qualifying time, and bettered her own school record, touching the wall in 23.87 to finish seventh in the 50 Yard Freestyle A-Final.

In the 200 Yard Medley Relay the team of
Leora Rose,
Abigayle Wood,
Sarah Brown, and Van Zyverden tallied a sixth place result with a time of 1:45.52, setting a new program best. The Rollins second squad of Reilly,
Mackenzie Adams,
Emily Hennessy, and
Danielle Boland tallied and 11
th place result with a time of 1:47.89.

Nova Southeastern leads the field, followed by Tampa and Florida Southern in the podium positions. Lynn sits in fourth. Florida Tech, Saint Leo and Rollins round out the field, all within four points of each other.
