CLEARWATER, Fla. (February 16, 2022) – The opening night of swimming for the 2022 Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships was held Wednesday night. A pair of Rollins relay teams took to the pool to compete in the day's lone event, the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay.
The quartet of
Beatriz Olivieri,
Jill Hughes,
Alonna Clark, and
Sydney Willis finished the race in a seventh-place time of 7:39.03, while the team of
Emily Hennessy,
Alana Goodwin,
Erika Wesch, and
Amelia Kondal placed 12
th in 7:51.98.
After the first day of competition, the Tars are tied with Florida Tech for fifth place overall with 34 points, ahead of Saint Leo (30 points). Nova Southeastern leads with 54 points, followed by Tampa (52 points), Lynn (40), and Florida Southern (38).
