MELBOURNE, Fla. (Nov. 20, 2022) – The Rollins men's swimming team closed out the Panther Invitational on Sunday with 655.5 points to place fourth. St. Thomas won the meet with 1190.5 points, followed by Florida Southern (1057 points) and Florida Tech (905 points).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Payden Knettles opened the day with a ninth-place time of 17:10.86 in the 1650-yard freestyle.
- Benjamin Mann was the top Tar finisher in the 200-yard backstroke, placing sixth in 1:55.65.
- Tully Njoroge posted a third-place time of 2:01.73 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
- In the 200-yard butterfly, Michael Tucker finished fifth with a time of 1:54.24.
- Njoroge, Colin McNew, Ben Robertson, and Cameron Dolly wrapped up the meet with a sixth-place time of 3:08.01 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
UP NEXT:
The Tars will be back in the pool on Friday, December 16 when they travel to Miami Gardens to face NAIA No. 6 St. Thomas in a meet slated for 12 p.m.
