Alvarez Perez Leads Tars to Sixth Place Finish

Rollins wrapped up their fall season with the annual Legends Invitational

BRADENTON, Fla. (November 1, 2022) - Women's golf wrapped up their fall season with a strong finish among the nation's best at the annual Legends Invitational. The Tars shot a 301 in their final round, giving them a clean 900 (296-303-301) and the sixth-lowest score in the field of sixteen. Fellow SSC member #5 Lynn took home the trophy, while Nova Southeastern's Ellen Andersson finished with an even 213 to take home the individual title.

The Tars shot a team score of 301 in the final round, sitting between their first round of 296 and their second round of 303. Carla Alvarez Perez led the way, firing a 73 (+2) that included five birdies and six pars. She finished the tournament with an overall 218 (+5), which was good for a tie for seventh place. 

Katharina Hesse was +4 for the day, and finished with a 323 (+10), tied for 16th with four other golfers. She was followed by Berni Villalba (+5 in the 3rd round, +14 overall), Elizabeth Kondal (+6), and Olivia Tamburlini (+13). 

Playing as an individual, Liza Eubanks, who was sitting in 3rd overall after the first two rounds, slipped to 21st after shooting an 81 on Tuesday to finish +11. 

The champion Fighting Knights stayed under 300 in all three of their rounds, including a tournament-best 284 in round two. They finished +16, besting the #1 ranked Dallas Baptist Patriots by seven strokes. 

This is the final event of the fall for the Tars, who will pick things up in February at the World Golf Invitational, hosted by Flagler College.
