DAVIE, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2022) – The Rollins men's golf team shot the third-lowest score in the third round of the NSU Shark Invitational on Tuesday, carding a 284 as a team to move up to 10th place with a tournament total of 887 (300-303-284). Three Tars posted even- or under-par rounds, led by
Axel Einarsson's one-under 70.
Einarsson finished tied for 45th for the tournament with a 226 (77-79-70).
Danny Taggart and
Warut Wongrungroj each shot even-par 71 on Tuesday, helping Taggart climb into a tie for 35th (72-79-71=222) and Wongrungroj finish in a tie for 43rd (79-75-71=225).
Connor Jones (75-75-72=222) also tied for 35th with Taggart, while Drew Lanier finished tied for 54th (76-74-77=227). Playing as an individual,
Jacob Hair tied for 29th (71-72-76=219).
Barry won the event by 17 strokes, finishing at 13-under par after shooting a 12-under 272 on Tuesday to finish with an 839 (284-283-272). North Georgia moved up to claim second place (285-284-287=856), besting the hosts, Nova Southeastern (283-284-290=857), by just one stroke. Georgia Southwestern (287-288-285=860) and Embry-Riddle (286-291-285=862) rounded out the top five.
NSU's Will O'Neill (71-63-71=205) and ERAU's Ian Aldarondo (67-69-69=205) finished in a tie for first at eight-under par, with O'Neill claiming the medalist honors after winning a two-hole playoff. Barry's Nicolas Quintero (70-70-67=207) and Palm Beach Atlantic's Andrew Riley (73-66-68=207) finished tied for third with 207s, and Barry's Amani D'Ambrosio (69-70-70=209) took fifth place.
