Tars Shine at 2021 Student Achievement Awards

Rollins student-athletes were honored for their work around campus at the Rollins Student Achievement Awards virtual ceremony

WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 27, 2021) – Rollins student-athletes were honored for their work around campus at the Rollins Student Achievement Awards virtual ceremony.  Molly Von Eschenbach highlighted the night as a Fiat Lux Award winner.  Yoke Tassent, Javier Perez, and Jenny Goldsher also collected awards for the work on campus and in the classroom.

Women's soccer player Molly Von Eschenbach was named a Fiat Lux award winner for her efforts all over campus. Fiat Lux Awards honor outstanding Rollins seniors for their positive contributions to our campus and community in the areas of academics, leadership, inclusion, and service. The award recognizes the most established and honorable leaders on campus.  Molly, a communication major, also served as a peer mentor, was on the Panhellenic Executive Board, and was involved in numerous activities throughout campus.
 
Yoke Tassent, a junior on the women's basketball team, was named the Student Leader of the Year.  This award recognizes a student leader who has demonstrated the highest level of leadership and a strong and lasting impact in multiple areas of campus.  Yoke, a honors student, serves the campus as an Immersion Team Coordinator and Resident Assistant.
 
Javier Perez, a freshman in the Rollins baseball program, earned recognition as a Unsung Leader of the Year.  This honor recognizes a student who exemplifies silent leadership and whose work has had a significant impact on the Rollins community. Javier has shown his initiative and leadership abilities in his role in the Campus Safety Department.

Jenny Goldsher won the Outstanding Senior Scholar in the Science and Mathematics Division.  This award is bestowed annually on the senior who exemplifies excellence in the science division through academics, including scholarly work and GPA.  Jenny, a computer science and psychology double major, with a data analytics minor, has served as a tutor, and done extensive research, presenting at Southeastern Psychological Association Conference six times.
