Tars Face Vital SSC Opponent Saint Leo

SET-UP: Ranked No. 6 in the nation and undefeated, Rollins will look to continue their perfect season, by hosting No. 23 Saint Leo on Thursday, then traveling to the Lions' stadium Friday evening or a doubleheader. The Tars moved to 8-0, 6-0 in the Sunshine State Conference, by sweeping Lynn in their second series of the year.
 
WHO TO WATCH:
Rollins:
The Tars are returning to the diamond after last week's series against Florida Southern was postponed. The Tars are eager to keep their undefeated streak alive. Ashley Worrell has been impressive in the circle this season. She has registered a 0.78 ERA, tossing 20 strikeouts in 27 innings. 
 
Ashley Troutman leads the squad in batting average this season, hitting .474. Troutman has nine hits in 19 trips to the batter's box.  She has scored eight times and tallied seven RBIs. Ashley Worrell, has been a force at the plate, as well as in the circle.  She has the most RBI on the team with 12, and a batting average of .409. As a team, Rollins is hitting .305.
 
Saint Leo:
The Lions have played 16 games so far in 2021; they swept Lynn last time out, and come to Winter Park with a five-game winning streak. Morgan Shannon leads the Lions with a .395 batting average.  Kacie Kelly has totaled a team best 20 hits and 11. Kayla Betts is a key pitcher for the Lions team. She has pitched in 42 innings with 48 strikeouts, and has won five games so far this season. Betts' ERA is 1.50, which is seventh in the conference.

The Tars will host Nova Southeastern Wednesday, April 7th, for a doubleheader starting at 4:00 p.m. Then Rollins will travel to Nova Southeastern for a doubleheader Saturday, April 10, also at 4:00 p.m.
