SET UP:
After going 1-1 in their first week of action, the Tars continue their trek through the Sunshine State Conference gauntlet. Rollins will host Florida Tech on Wednesday, then look for their first road win at Saint Leo on Saturday.
No. 10 Rollins (1-1, 1-1 SSC):
Liz Fahey registered a career day against the Lynn Fighting Knights, and leads Rollins in goals after two games. The junior from Hagerstown, Maryland found the back of the net six times. Senior
Eden Cooke has tallied four scores and, a team high, three assists, good for a team leading seven points. Courtesy of a stifling effort against Lynn, opponents are clearing at just 64% against Rollins. The Tars have caused 19 turnovers, led by seven players, who have each forced a pair of mistakes.
Â
Florida Tech (0-3, 0-2 SSC):
The Panthers have struggled out of the gate, after getting preseason consideration in both major national polls. Florida Tech fell 17-3 to Florida Southern before a furious comeback fell short in a 16-15 overtime setback against Lynn. The Panthers had no answer for the Saint Leo Lions last time out, dropping the contest 19-6. Rachel Johnson has paced Florida Tech so far, scoring seven goals.
Â
No. 22 Saint Leo (1-2, 1-1 SSC):
The Lions have faced one of the toughest schedules in the country so far, facing top-ten foes Tampa and Florida Southern to start the season, before picking up their first victory with a convincing performance at Florida Tech. Fiona McLaughlin and Delaney Chrisco have registered 10 and nine goals respectively, while Ashlee Wilsynski leads the squad with three assists.
