Women's Soccer Set for Spring Kickoff

SET UP:
After more than a year idle, the Rollins women's soccer team returns to competition this weekend, facing a visit from SSC rival Florida Southern.

Rollins (0-0):
Rollins returns a number of contributors from the team that made the 2019 NCAA South Region Tournament.  Bailey Tran will look to build on a stellar freshman season that included a game-winning penalty kick in Lakeland, and earning All-SSC honors.  Meghan Mosley is a two-time All-Region performer, starting all 35 games in the first two seasons of her Rollins career.  Gianna Merigliano and net-minder Elena Beasley each collected All-SSC Awards in 2019,  and look to lead a stingy defense into the spring season.
 
Florida Southern (0-1):
The Mocs fell to the Tampa Spartans, 1-0, in their only other action this spring.  Jenny Staten played every minute in net for the Mocs in 2019.  The now sophomore tallied six clean sheets in her first season in Lakeland.  Senior Rachel Peck leads the attack for Florida Southern.  The Montana nativetied for the team lead with six points, including a pair of game-winning-goals.
 
NEXT:
Rollins will travel to the University of Tampa for their next contest.  The Tars and Spartans kick-off on Wednesday, March 17, at 6 p.m.
