Tars Blank Lions in Regular Season Finale

Rollins defeated Saint Leo 2-0 on Tuesday night

SAINT LEO, Fla. (October 27, 2026) – Women's soccer wrapped up their regular season in impressive fashion, earning a 2-0 SSC road win at Saint Leo on Tuesday night. The Tars move to 7-7-1, 4-5-1 SSC while the Lions drop to 5-8, 3-7 SSC.

The Lions had a quick shot on target, just 97 seconds into the match, but Lauren Mehos was able to stop it. Rollins then turned up their aggression, keeping the Lion defense busy as they maintained control for a good chunk of the next fifteen minutes.

Mehos was tested once more in the 25th minute, but she turned in the same result. This time, however, the Tars were able to take advantage on their next possession. Following a throw in that allowed Victoria Pou Varona to cover nearly half the field before feeding the ball into the box, Rollins put a shot on goal from Ella Richardson. It was stopped by the Saint Leo keeper, but Sophia Harutunian collected the rebound and put it in the net for a 1-0 lead, which held until halftime.

The two teams combined for 14 fouls in the first half of play.

Rollins was able to secure an insurance goal in the 52nd minute. Chloe Milton was called on to take a corner kick, and she delivered a pristine ball into the box. Her strike found its way to Gracie DiStefano, who headed the ball into the top corner of the net for a 2-0 advantage.

Around the 61st minute, Mehos was tested two more times by the Lion offense, but she was able to stymie both attempts. She added a final save in the 89th minute to preserve the shutout, giving her six clean sheets on the season.

Harutunian and DiStefano both scored their third goal of the season in the win.

Rollins will now enter the Sunshine State Conference tournament as the #7 seed. They will face either Nova Southeastern or Eckerd on the road. One more game … Florida Tech vs Tampa … has to be played on Friday before the final seedings are announced. The game will be played on Monday, November 2.
