ORLANDO, Fla. (March 16, 2026) - The Sunshine State Conference announced their Players of the Week for games played March 9-15 on Monday afternoon. Among the winners was senior
Joey Rubin, who was named the top baseball player for the week.
Rollins played four games last week, posting a 3-1 record, thanks in large part to their leadoff man. In Tuesday's contest against Concordia St. Paul, Rubin reached base in all four of his plate appearances, going 3-3 with a walk. He had a single, a double, and a home run while scoring twice and driving in one.
In Friday's series opener against Embry-Riddle, Rubin scored a run in the fifth inning after being hit by a pitch. The Tars would go on to win 5-4.
The Tars and Eagles then squared off in a doubleheader on Saturday. In game one, Rubin went 2-4 with a home run. He scored once and drove in two, but Rollins ultimately fell, 7-3. In the nightcap, he added two more hits to his ledger, drove in one, and added a stolen base.
For the week, he was 7-15 with four runs, four RBI, one double, and two home runs. This is his third career Player of the Week selection.
