Tars Take Sixth at Southeastern Intercollegiate

Event was played at Kinderlou Forest, hosted by Valdosta State

VALDOSTA, Ga. (March 10, 2026) - Men's golf bounced back from a tough first round to finish sixth overall in the sixteen-team field at the First Federal Southeastern Intercollegiate, hosted by Valdosta State at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.

Clippd Final Results

In Monday's morning round, Clarence Chapman III was the only Tar to finish at par or better, firing an even 72. He picked up four birdies and ten pars in the round. Andrew Clark and Jules Haessig were each one shot behind Chapman. Clark had a two-birdie round, while Haessig's highlight was an eagle on the par five fourth. Sean Dobson closed out the team scoring with a two-over 74. Rollins was sitting in 14th place after the initial round.

Round two saw the Tars bounce back in fantastic fashion as all four of their scorers finished under par. Chapman dropped five birdies to finish with a three-under 69. Mick Herron, who was the low man in round one, rebounded with a 69 as well, matching Chapman's five birdies. Dobson and Clark each fired one-under 71s, but the scorecards could not have looked more different. Dobson carded his with three birdies and two bogeys. Clark took the more scenic route, with three birdies, four bogeys, and a magnificent hole-in-one on the 171 yard fifth hole. His eight-iron shot bounced on the green three times, and had just enough juice to roll into the cup for the ace.

Tuesday's final round saw an overall even effort from the Tars. Sean Dobson was the leader of the pack with five birdies that led to a two-under 70. Chapman and Clark each finished with an even par round. Clark added to his highlight reel with an eagle on fourteen. Herron had four birdies in his final effort, and finished two over at 74. The team score of even par was the fourth-lowest score of the day.

Rollins finished in sixth place with a four-under 860. West Florida took the title with an impressive 21-under 843. Columbus State was second, Lincoln Memorial third, Barry in fourth, and Florida Southern in fifth.

Chapman had the best performance for the Tars, tying for 15th with a three-under 213. Dobson tied for 22nd with a one-under 215, Clark tied for 28th with an even 216, and Herron was 38th with a 218 (+2). Harry Dickins of Lincoln Memorial was the overall champion at 13-under.

The Tars will have a quick turnaround for the next tournament. They head to Milledgeville, Georgia to play in the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Georgia College, on March 16 and 17 at Cuscowilla Country Club.
