WINTER PARK, Fla. — Rollins Swimming celebrated Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at the Alfond Pool, honoring a class that has helped shape one of the most successful stretches in program history, as the Tars closed the regular-season home slate with a sweep of New College of Florida. Rollins captured both team victories, winning 170–41 on the women's side and 155–9 on the men's, in a meet defined by senior leadership, depth, and consistency across the lineup.
The afternoon opened with statement relay performances, setting the tone for the rest of the meet. The women's 100 medley relay, featuring seniors
Lizzie Sander,
Brooke Postell,
Carly Yeagle, and
Dylan Beeson, touched first in 53.19, while the B relay added valuable points. The senior presence continued in the closing 100 freestyle relay, where Rollins went 1–2, highlighted by the A relay of
Katie Canty, Beeson, Sander, and
Kathrine Wade winning in 49.60.
On the women's side, the senior class delivered across every event group.
Carly Yeagle, a four-year scorer and former team captain, contributed on both relays and added a second-place finish in the 50 breast (33.39). Wade, who transferred to Rollins and quickly became a key contributor, anchored the sprint group with a strong split on the winning freestyle relay and added points in the 100 free (1:01.36).
Lizzie Sander, school-record holder in the 200 backstroke, capped her Senior Day with a win in the 100 back (1:02.80) and a third-place finish in the 100 IM (1:04.96) in addition to her contributions in the relays.
Brooke Postell delivered one of the top swims of the day, winning the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.26, while also contributing to the winning medley relay.
Leah Fonnotto, a distance mainstay and honors graduate, added points in the 50 back (35.38) and anchored the B freestyle relay despite her favorite event, the 1000 free, not being swam in the meet.
Seniors
Katie Canty and
Dylan Beeson rounded out the women's group, with Canty placing third in the 50 breast (33.55) and third in the 100 free (1:00.56), while Beeson added a third-place finish in the 50 free (26.13) and key relay legs in both relay victories.
Elliot Fox, typically known for her distance events, also contributed in the relays, earning a third-place in the 50 back (29.99).
The men's senior class delivered another complete Senior Day performance, beginning with dominant efforts in the sprint and butterfly events.
William Slowey, one of the most decorated swimmers in program history, won both the 50 breast (24.63) and 100 IM (49.65), while also swimming on both exhibition relays.
Luke Dinges, the 2024 Sunshine State Conference Champion in the 200 butterfly, continued to lead the fly group with wins in the 100 fly (50.75) and 50 fly (22.85).
Trey Carter added points in the sprint freestyle events and anchored the exhibition freestyle relay, while
Richard Riley delivered a Senior Day victory in the 50 free (21.88).
Nick Bonta, a former team captain and school-record holder, claimed first in the 100 back (52.86) and helped close the meet in the freestyle relay.
The senior class was rounded out by
Sky Murphy, who won the 100 breast (1:01.15);
Samuel Brisch, who added a strong swim in the medley relay;
Jaswanth Reddy Yannam who earned second in the 50 back (24.05);
Alexander Tanon and
Diego Spielmann, each of whom contributed across sprints, relays, and depth events to complete a dominant team effort.
As a group, this senior class leaves Rollins Swimming defined by leadership, results, and balance. Collectively, the group accounted for multiple school records, dozens of podium finishes, and numerous NCAA Division II B-cut performances. Beyond the pool, the class represented the program through team captaincies, SAAC leadership, residence life roles, academic honor rolls, and national scholar recognitions, setting a standard of excellence that extended across campus. Their impact was on full display one final time at the Alfond Pool, serving as both a celebration of what has been accomplished and a standard for what comes next.
Rollins will now turn its focus to the postseason, looking to the Sunshine State Conference Championship beginning on February 11.
