Tars Tabbed Third in SSC Preseason Poll

Conference coaches select Rollins to finish near the top

ORLANDO, Fla. (August 12, 2025) - Sunshine State Conference men's soccer coaches tab defending national champion Lynn as the preseason favorite in 2025. With 100 points and 10 first-place votes in the poll, the Fighting Knights receive the most points possible, as they are expected to win the program's 12th regular-season title. Sitting two spots back is Rollins, who stands alone in thrid with 74 vote points. 

Florida Tech finishes in second place with 84 points and eight second-place votes. Tampa garners 70 points to anchor the fourth spot, while Nova Southeastern earns 65 points and the final first-place vote to finish fifth. Barry sits in the middle of the poll (63 points) and is followed by Palm Beach Atlantic (55 points) and Saint Leo (29 points). Florida Southern (28 points), Eckerd (19 points), and Embry-Riddle (18 points) occupy the final three positions in the poll.

The Tars posted a record of 10-6-1 last season, including a 6-3-1 mark in SSC play. They entered the SSC tournament as the #3 seed, and took down #6 Palm Beach Atlantic and #7 Barry before succumbing to #1 Lynn in the championship, 2-0. 

Rollins will turn to the leadership of captain Kaden Foreman and defender Hayden Judge to lead the team in 2025. The Tars have reloaded their roster with 17 new players, and will also have midfielder Justin Nelson on the pitch following his redshirt last season. 

The team will open play on the road against Wingate University on Friday, September 5th. Rollins' first home game is scheduled for September 12 against West Florida.
