Tars Wrap Up Day Four of NCAA Championships

Rollins moved up to 14th place in the men's standings on Friday

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 14, 2025) – The Rollins swim team sent five swimmers into the pool on Friday, the fourth day of the 2025 NCAA II Championships. The Tars' top moment of the day was Luke Dinges and Evan McInerny both advancing to the championship final of the 200-yard butterfly, as each swimmer took home a top-six finish.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Taiylor Tegler was the first swimmer in the pool, opening the day by swimming a 1:02.71 in the 100-yard breaststroke prelims, which placed her 20th, narrowly missing out on advancing to the consolation final by just 0.12 seconds.
  • William Slowey then swam a 53.55 in the same event, finishing 13th in the prelims to advance to the consolation championship.
  • Lauren Diehl made her first appearance in the pool this week with a 2:05.73 in the 200-yard butterfly prelims, finishing 26th.
  • In the men's 200 fly prelims, Dinges was second-fastest in 1:44.60 and McInerny was fifth-fastest in 1:45.23, sending both swimmers to the championship final.
  • In the evening, Slowey came back to post a time of 54.00 in the 100 breast final, tying him for fifth in the consolation final, 13th overall, which scored 3.5 points.
  • In the 200 fly final, Dinges (1:44.39) and McInerny (1:45.23) came in fifth and sixth, respectively, with Dinges earning 14 points and McInerny scoring 13.
  • The Tars now have 67.5 points on the men's side and sit in 14th place, 1.5 points ahead of Catawba and 2.5 points ahead of Clarion.
Drury leads the men's standings through the first 31 events with 390 points, while Tampa is second (355) and McKendree is third (262).
 
Drury also leads the women's standings after day four with 358 points, followed by Nova Southeastern (353) and Colorado Mesa (284). 
 
UP NEXT:
The NCAA Championships wrap up tomorrow with day five, featuring the 1650-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 200-yard breaststroke, and 400-yard freestyle relay. Slowey will swim in the 100-yard freestyle, Dinges will participate in the 200-yard backstroke, and Tegler will compete in the 200-yard breaststroke.
