CLEVELAND, Tenn. (May 8, 2024) - Women's golf saw their season come to an end on Wednesday, finishing in seventh place overall at the NCAA South Regional, hosted by Lee University at Cleveland Country Club.

It was a tough start for Rollins on day one Monday as they combined to shoot a 308, putting them in tenth place out of twelve teams.
Carla Alvarez had the best card with a 75 (+3) that included thirteen bogeys and a birdie.
Megan Docherty and
Elizabeth Kondal each turned in a 77 (+5), and
Berni Villalba rounded out the team score with a 79 (+7).Â
The Tars made a push on day two as Kondal stepped with a 74, carding four birdies along the way. Alvarez was right behind her with a 75, helped by her eagle on the Par 5 first. Villalba matched the 75 score, and Docherty was only one back with a 76. The team ended with a score of 300, and jumped them into eighth place.Â
With their season on the line, the Tars did everything they could on thr third day to make the cut ... the top five teams from the event advance to the National Championship. Kondal played the apex round of her season, posting a 69 (-3) that was bogey-free and included three birdies. Alvarez was a shot behind at 70 (-2), throwing five birdies on her sheet. Docherty shot her best round of the event at 74 (+2), and Villalba finished with a 76 (+4), giving the team a final score of 289.
Anderson University ran away with the title, leading the tournament from start to finish. Flagler and Lynn were neck-and-neck for second and third, followed by host Lee and Nova Southeastern, who will advance to the National Championship being held May 20-25 at Orange County National in Orlando. Rollins, along with the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, are the co-hosts of the NCAA DII Spring Sports Festival that will feature six national championship events. Â
