ORLANDO, Fla. (March 12, 2024) - Women's golf posted another Top 3 finish, their fourth of the season, at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, hosted by Rollins at Orange Tree Golf Club.
Nova Southeastern (925) captured the team title, with Barry (929) finishing four strokes behind the Sharks. The tars were third with a score of 946, followed by Lee (948) and Montevallo (956).
The individual title went to Nina Klug of Barry, who finished with a 218 (+2).
Elizabeth Kondal was the top finisher for Rollins, posting a 232 (+16), good for eighth place.
The Tars got off to a rough start in round one on Monday, posting a 318. Kondal led the way with a 75 (+3), followed by an 80 from
Carla Alvarez, an 81 from
Olivia Tamburlini, and an 82 from
Megan Docherty.
Docherty played for redemption in round two, shaving nine strokes off her score from the morning. She carded a 73 (+1) that featured five birdies. Alvarez moved down to a 78,, followed by Kondal and
Sophia Fondenaer, who both scored an 80. Rollins' score of 311 moved them up to fourth place after two rounds.
Tuesday's final round saw a collective effort of 317. Kondal was the top finisher once again, handing in a 77. Alvarez finished with a 78, and Tamburlini and Fondenaer each had 81.
Kondal's seven birdies were the seventh-most in the event, and her ten bogeys were the fourth-fewest.
Rollins will take a few weeks off before hitting the course again. Their next scheduled event is the Lady Moc Classic 2.0, hosted by Florida Southern on April 1-2 in Lakeland.
