Rollins Ties for Seventh at Jay Jennison Cup

Nicholas Diebel and Drew Lanier finished tied for 10th at the event

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Sept. 26, 2023) – The Rollins men's golf team closed out the Jay Jennison Cup hosted by Flagler on Tuesday with a 290 in the final round at the Slammer and Squire in St. Augustine. The Tars finished the tournament with a nine-over 873 to end up tied with Flagler for seventh overall.
 
Nicholas Deibel (73-70-69) and Drew Lanier (71-72-69) finished tied for 10th after firing identical 69s on Tuesday, though Lanier's score did not count for the team total as he was playing as an individual. Sean Dobson (78-70-75), RJ Glod (74-76-73), and Franco Misdrop (76-74-73) all finished tied for 40th with seven-over 223s. Connor Jones wound up tied for 49th with a 226 (70-79-77).
 
Palm Beach Atlantic won the tournament with a 23-under 841 (275-282-284), followed by Lenoir-Rhyne (285-276-286=847) and Lynn (286-282-282=850). Embry-Riddle was fourth with a 277-292-289=858 and Mount Olive rounded out the top five after shooting a 287-293-287=860.
 
PBA's Trey Tesiero (65-71-70) and Eric Boutwell of Montevallo (70-68-68) tied for the top spot with 10-under 206s, with Tesiero taking home the medalist honors after defeating Boutwell with a par on the first playoff hole. Flagler's Nic Eberhard (70-65-72) and Lynn's Joseph Hudak (72-69-66) tied for third with nine-under 207s, and Mount Olive's Rasmus Ronnberg (69-73-66) and PBA's Justus Verge (69-70-69) tied for fifth with eight-under 208s.

The Tars will be back in action next week when they take part in the Shark Invitational hosted by Nova Southeastern. The tournament gets underway at the Grande Oaks Country Club in Davie on Monday, Oct. 2.
