Rollins Swimming Recognized for Academic Achievements

The Rollins men's and women's swimming teams have earned Spring Scholar All-America honors, while six swimmers were named Individual Scholar All-Americans

RICHMOND, Va. (July 17, 2023) - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) have announced that the Rollins College men's and women's swimming teams have earned Spring Scholar All-America honors for their efforts in the classroom last semester. The women posted a GPA of 3.58, while the men earned a 3.50; the men's GPA was tied for the fourth-best among all NCAA II teams. Additionally, six swimmers were named Individual Scholar All-Americans: Alonna Clark, Jill Hughes, and Abigayle Wood from the women's team, along with Luke Dinges, William Slowey, and Michael Tucker from the men's team.

Samantha S. Barany, CSCAA Executive Director, highlighted Rollins' achievements noting, "Rollins student-athletes have trained all year to achieve at the highest level. Thank you for supporting these opportunities to equip your student-athletes with the confidence, courage, perseverance and teamwork that will help them thrive on campus and well-beyond graduation. Not every team wins a championship or earns Scholar All-America, so please know that Rollins ranks among our very best. "

In total, 718 teams earned the honor for the Spring 2023 semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their Spring 2023 team grade point averages and represent 17,497 student-athletes.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
